Prospective Students

Primary Students (years 3 to 7).

The sessions include age appropriate activities, with lots of hands on learning especially for the younger students. If requested, I can give you some simple ideas for helping your child during the week to consolidate the concepts covered.

Secondary Students (years 8 to 12).

I tutor all levels of abilities in the high school years, including WACE courses. I have also had extensive training and experience with students who need help to overcome difficulties in their learning of maths.

Adult Numeracy

I tutor adults who need to improve their numeracy and overall maths skills for work, study or just for themselves. I cater for those adults who need to 'brush up' on their skills, including those of you who may not have enjoyed maths at school or found it difficult.

The first session

Younger students

For younger students the first tuition session usually starts with an assessment (very informal so there is no pressure) to find out where the student’s strengths and weaknesses in maths are. In the remainder of the session a start is made on the maths tuition by addressing some of these areas of weakness. I also address any areas of concern that the parent or student's teacher may have.

Older students and adults

For older students and adults, the first session will start with a discussion on which areas and concepts the student needs most help with, which is often based on their current studies.
